Advent 2022 First Sunday: Grace

Advent 2022 begins today, November 27. Advent, which means “arrival,” reminds us to remember Christ’s first coming and anticipate his second. My advent mediation this year will be inspired by my recent study of 2 Corinthians which ended with a beautiful benediction—the only one that mentions all three persons of the Trinity. First, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Today we head into the final week of waiting for our annual celebration of the birth of Mary’s son, Jesus. We expectantly anticipate the coming—the Advent—of the Son of the Most High as she did. During each week of Advent, I focused on finding the traditional Advent themes in Mary's story.
