15 years ago today my motherโ€”Marjorie Jo Loomis Dubertโ€”"graduated to glory" (1928โ€“2010). In her remembrance, Iโ€™m sharing a talk she gave in October, 1984 to her colleagues about her experience of raising children in Papua New Guinea.

Remembering Mom

This morning a wave of guilt washed over me. I forgot the tenth anniversary of my mother's death! Then relief quickly followed as I realized I had the wrong date. I hadn't forgotten it after all. I still had time to honor her.

A Tribute to Another Friend

It was our first big conference at Christar. Mark was standing at the back of the room talking to some guy โ€” a rather shaggy looking guy named Brian. Turns out he had lived in the place of my birth and governed my high school alma mater. He spoke Pidgin English and knew people I knew. On top of that, his wife was a counselor (as is my husband) and they were involved in missionary member care.
