In this section of Acts, we see "Christians" realize and accept that the "good newsย of peaceย through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all" is for the Gentiles too. The first apostle is martyred (James) and Peter is rescued from prison. Yet "the word of God continued to spread and flourish." Here are my (somewhat) random thoughts from Acts 10โ12.

Galatians 2:11โ21: Justified by Faith in Christ
n this short section of Paul's letter to the Galatians, Galatians 2:11โ21, he recounts to his audience the things he said when he confronted Peter about his hypocrisy regarding the law and non-Jews. Paul lays out the basicsโwe are justified by faith in Jesus and not by obeying a set of rules.
Galatians 1โ2: Paul’s Testimony and Commission
I continue with Galatians 1:11โ2:10 summarizing the message, adding same parallel passages for explanation, then asking some application questions. Itโs my way of making sense of Paulโs writing and digging for his meaning and how I can apply it personally.
Galatians 1: Only One Gospel and Pleasing God
As I study Galatians with the women in my church, I'm doing something a little different than I usually do here on Pondered Treasures. I'm summarizing the passages, adding same parallel passages for explanation, then asking some application questions. It's my way of making sense of Paul's writing and digging for his meaning and and how I can apply it personally. It may only appeal to "Bible nerds" like me, but I offer it to you. May it help you in your study. I start with Galatians 1:1โ10.
Jesus Sends Out the Disciples Despite Risk
At the time of the riots, my husband and I lived on Lombok and mentored a team of local church planters. In an effort to comfort them, I turned to Jesus's instructions to his fledgling disciples in Matthew chapter ten. Jesus is clear that their calling will involve risk. After all, they are like sheep among wolves.
