Scarcity and the Fear of Going Without
“Getting rid of stuff makes me feel lighter,” my daughter-in-law said. Without thinking, I responded, “I don’t believe I’ll have the means to replace something if I let it go so I keep it just in case I might need it.” Even as the words were out of my mouth, my heart knew the truth. I still operate out of a scarcity mindset.
Multiplication Mindset
Last month, I introduced the idea of a scarcity mindset as exemplified by the disciples when they criticized the woman who anointed Jesus' feet with oil before his death and burial. This paradigm screams: Wait your turn. This seat's taken. Stay in your lane. Shame on you. You can't do that because there's not enough to go around.
