Prayer for Partners in the New Year

Precious Father,
Thank you for our faithful and caring partners—friends, family, and interested folk
who pray for and support us,
our agency, and the least reached;
People who work hard,
budget every dime,
and sacrifice other things
so that we can care for global workers
as you’ve asked us to.

Please remind them how important and vital
they are to us and to global messengers.
Without them we could not help workers thrive
so that they can plant your church
around the world.

But mostly remind them how dear they are to you.
You see the part they play in serving you.
You see their heart, their needs, and struggles.

In this coming year, provide for them.
Give back in multiples what they give to us.
Reward their generosity and sacrifice.
Only you see what they truly give up,
so take care of them, Lord, as you promise to do.
You never let the righteous go begging,
so in lean and in plenty, be with them.

For the challenges that they will face,
prepare and protect them.
Surround them with grace and comfort.
Bring friends and physical support,
but mostly show them yourself and your near presence
for you alone can be with them in every situation.

As they seek to live as ambassadors for you
in their corner of the globe, equip them.
Show them how to represent you
in their homes, churches, workplaces, and communities.

Shine through them so that the your light
may penetrate dark places.
May others see their good deeds and glorify you (Mat 5:16).
May they produce the fruit of light—goodness, righteousness, and truth—
and find out what pleases you (Eph 5:8–10).

In the new year,
we pray that our partners will walk in the light,
become more and more like you who is true light,
live the way you enlighten,
and follow the steps you illuminate.

Together with our partners,
we ask that all peoples around the world
walking in darkness
will see a great light.
We ask that on those living in the land of deep darkness,
your light will dawn (Is 9:2).

In Jesus’s name,
Amen.
